From June to July

Image
June and July are not known to be that different. They are not even used in comparison at all. But literally, these months have differences and similarities. For example, these months are both hot, but have different holidays.  June June is the month where most children start their summer break, and end their 180 days of school. Children usually start a summer camp at the end of June. If they don't, it will usually start in early July. June isn't the hot month of the year, it's July. Although June isn't the hot month of the year. It is still common to see people at the beach. These people are usually surfers or tourists. During June the waves are not high. This is because the moon's not interfering with the waves and gravity of the Earth. In other words, the moon is far. July Now July is a month that is a total relaxation month. Independence Day is the only thing that attracts people in July to come out and enjoy the glory of America. July is the month of the

Person of the month

Person of the Month Rachel Carson Rachel Carson Rachel Carson was very important to our environment.  If it was not for her, pesticides would still be used to this day and most of our animals would be poisoned. In her book Silent Spring, Rachel Carson became an Aquatic Biologist with the   U.S. Bureau of Fisheries in the 1950s. As Carson became older, she started writing books such as Silent Spring,  and The Sense of Wonder.  Just like other people, died. Sadly, she died at the age of 56. That is an early age nowadays. Back then though, it was considered a tad lower than average in the early 1900s. Carson had a beautiful life, and her life ended in 1956. Carson shows people how pesticides are damaging our environment.Even though the people who used/sold pesticides were saying her research was wrong; she still stood for the information she collected. Finally a scientist proved that the information Carson collected was all true! She won two awards for her books. When Carson was younger

Memorial Day

The P.I.E. Team Memorial Day Remember those who fought for you    Memorial Day is a holiday to remember those who fought in the military and died for us. Memorial Day is celebrated on May 30, and lasts one day similar to most holidays. Unlike some holidays, on Memorial Day, people are supposed to remember those who died for us, and helped save our country. One way to remember those who died for us is to think about how many people got to live in that moment, and how traumatizing it must have been. This method of appreciation, will help people appreciate the people more. This can improve people’s satisfaction too. It will lift a little weight off of their shoulders. Some things that symbolize bravery help others understand that not everyone is brave enough to fight. This method of appreciation also brings many people satisfaction. Satisfaction in people’s lives will make them and others less guilty. Therefore, they will have a happier lifetime. If you do not try any of these methods, do

Game of the Month!

The P.I.E. Team The game of the Month Get your game on! or no questions. Whoever guesses their character first, wins. Hedbanz is appropriate for people ages 4 and over. The small cards, and pieces may not be safe for kids 3 and under. This game is not very portable, unless you are putting it in a luggage or suitcase. The game is also family friendly. The genre is strategy, and luck. Just like 20 questions, or Guess Who. The similar framework makes it easy to play this game if you’ve played other games like this. The game’s environment can be any, whether at the beach, park, or party. The game is also very easy to clean up, there are 3 steps. #1: put the cards into the box. #2: put the headbands into the box. #3: close the box. The classic game always provides joy to all families, whether they live in New York, or Kansas. The game is enjoyed by all, no matter how different you are to the world around you. Hedbanz will provide joy to you, and your family. Picture Caption: The game Hedb

Should Reading be Homework?

Image
The P.I.E. Team Should Reading be Homework? Do Books help students, or occupy them? Reading and writing are very important standards wherever you are in school, even if you're doing math. Reading helps you know what, and where things are and so much more. Reading books helps us understand the world out of school more, and helps our grades. Should reading be vital to our homework though? Many kids say they do not want reading to be homework. On the contrary, many educators and parents say it helps them. A deeper dive into each side can change answers in this debate. Yes- Academics Are Everything When it comes to academics, everything is important, inside or outside of the classroom. Reading is a part of that, studies show that a student’s grades can improve at least 10% if they read for 20 minutes a day, at minimum. If educators make reading for at least 20 minutes each day homework will significantly improve students’ grades. Teachers want their students to be more successful, assi

Mother's day

The P.I.E. Team  Mother’s Day! Don’t Forget To Get Your Mom Something Special Mom’s have a  special role in life, they help us eat, drink, and help us arrive on this planet that we live on. Many children think that they deserve a day of their own, but mom’s definitely do, let’s explore the traditions and amazing things that Mother’s Day can give us. Mother’s day is celebrated on May 8th to celebrate your mom, and everything that she’s done for you. Some of the things that she’s done are crucial to our comfort in our daily lives. One of the things that she did was feed us when we were young. Without the benefit of being fed we might not have eaten at all. One of the other things that she did for us is dress us. When our bodies were small, our brains couldn’t process the simple things we know today such as getting dressed. This is a very helpful benefit from our moms. Our moms did so many things for us when we were younger. Mother’s Day is a day to take those simple actions for granted

Is May Perfect.?

Image
The P.I.E. Team  Is May Perfect? The Month of May You may not think about it a lot, but May is kind of the “Goldilocks Month.” It happens after the flowers bloom in April, right before it’s too hot. So why stay inside during May, go play in the green grass. One reason why May is “perfect” is that it is just the right weather, the showers in April make it cooler in the air, and right before June, when the summer weather starts kicking in. When May has skies of blue, and clouds of white, it feels like a fairy tale. May could be known as the “Perfect Month”, because the air quality is best. The air may be the best in May because the  trees are usually more active in the spring, and the more air that they produce will be fertilized by flowers, and other plants. May may not be known as the “Goldilocks month” but in general, it brings what is really there into the sites. Although there are not many things that happen in May, there are a lot of things that come with it. May is really perfec
